Fans of Ubisoft’s open-world FPS series can dive back into the action with Far Cry 4. However, the standout game this month has to be Monster Hunter Rise, the latest installment in Capcom’s acclaimed action RPG series.

Monster Hunter rise If you’re like me and have been curious about the Monster Hunter series for years but never took the plunge, Monster Hunter Rise arriving on PS Plus is a golden opportunity. Just recently, Capcom unveiled a stunning trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, the upcoming entry set to release in 2025, during Summer Game Fest. This preview reignited my interest in the series, and it seems Capcom has perfectly timed the inclusion of Rise on PS Plus to draw in new players like us.

While Monster Hunter Rise might be a bit daunting for newcomers, the fact that it’s free with PS Plus makes it a lot more inviting. Fans of the series often praise the intricate, beautifully designed worlds, the cooperative multiplayer experience, and the thrilling battles against gigantic monsters.

Monster Hunter rise These elements, along with some similarities to Capcom’s other beloved action RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2—a game I’m obsessed with—make me think this is the perfect moment to dive into the Monster Hunter universe. (Though I must brace myself for the notoriously complex UI and sparse tutorials, as seasoned players will undoubtedly remind us—thanks, Wise Ed!)

What’s coming to PS Plus in June 2024? But if Monster Hunter isn’t your thing, don’t worry—this month’s PS Plus offerings have something for everyone. Here’s the full list of games you can look forward to:

  • Crusader Kings III | PS5

  • Anno 1800 | PS5
  • Police Simulator: Patrol Officers | PS4, PS5

For those with the more expensive Premium tier subscription, there are also a few PlayStation classics and a PS VR2 title making their way to the service:

  • LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy | PS4, PS5
  • Ghosthunter | PS4, PS5
  • Daxter | PS4, PS5

Monster Hunter rise This is a fantastic collection of games, but if you have the Premium tier, I highly recommend trying out the PSP adventure Daxter. It’s a charming spinoff with more depth than you might expect at first glance.
